1. Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the FridgeFuel mobile application ("FridgeFuel," "the App," "we," "us," or "our"), you ("you" or "User") agree to these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use FridgeFuel.

2. The Service

FridgeFuel is a mobile application that uses artificial intelligence to generate personalized recipes and meal plans. Some features ("Pro features") use data you provide and, with your permission, biometric data from Apple HealthKit to inform recipe suggestions ("Biometric-to-Plate" personalization).

3. Not Medical or Nutritional Advice

FridgeFuel does not provide medical, nutritional, dietary, or health advice. The recipes, meal plans, biometric interpretations, and any related content generated by the App are for informational and culinary purposes only and are not a substitute for advice from a qualified physician, registered dietitian, or other licensed healthcare professional. Do not rely on FridgeFuel to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition. If you have a medical condition, food allergy, dietary restriction, or are pregnant, nursing, taking medication, or otherwise have specific nutritional needs, consult a qualified professional before acting on any information from FridgeFuel.

4. AI-Generated Content

Recipes and meal plans in FridgeFuel are generated using artificial intelligence and large language models. AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, omissions, or inappropriate suggestions. You are responsible for reviewing every recipe before preparing or consuming food, including verifying ingredient safety, allergens, cooking temperatures, food handling, and suitability for your dietary needs. FridgeFuel makes no warranty that AI-generated content is accurate, complete, safe, or fit for any particular purpose.

5. Allergens and Food Safety

You are solely responsible for identifying allergens and ensuring food safety. FridgeFuel does not guarantee that recipe suggestions are free of any allergen, including but not limited to peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, eggs, soy, wheat, fish, shellfish, or sesame. Always check ingredient labels and confirm safety before preparing or eating any food.

6. Subscriptions and Payments

FridgeFuel offers a free tier and "FridgeFuel Pro" auto-renewing subscriptions:

Subscription billing is processed by Apple through your Apple ID. By subscribing, you authorize Apple to charge your Apple ID payment method according to the plan you select. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings under Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple per Apple's policies; FridgeFuel does not directly issue refunds. Free trials, if offered, automatically convert to paid subscriptions unless canceled before the trial ends.

7. Apple Health Data

If you grant FridgeFuel permission to access Apple HealthKit, you authorize the App to read certain health metrics (such as heart rate variability, sleep stages, resting heart rate, and active energy) for the purpose of personalizing recipe recommendations within the App. HealthKit data is processed in accordance with Apple's HealthKit policies and our Privacy Policy. We do not use HealthKit data for advertising, marketing, or data mining, and we do not sell or share HealthKit data with third parties.

8. Your Account

You are responsible for the accuracy of information you provide and for activity that occurs under your account. You must not share your account, attempt to access other users' accounts, or use the App in a way that violates any law or these Terms.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: (a) reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the App; (b) use automated systems to access the App; (c) interfere with the App's operation or security; (d) use the App for any unlawful purpose; or (e) misrepresent your identity.

10. Intellectual Property

FridgeFuel, including its name, logo, design, software, and content, is owned by FridgeFuel and protected by intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.

11. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. FRIDGEFUEL DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FRIDGEFUEL AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FRIDGEFUEL IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $50, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless FridgeFuel and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the App or via the contact email associated with your account. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason, with or without notice. You may stop using the App at any time. Sections that by their nature survive termination (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification) will continue to apply.

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to conflict of laws principles.

17. Apple App Store Terms

Your use of FridgeFuel is also subject to Apple's standard End User License Agreement, available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. In the event of any conflict, Apple's licensed application terms take precedence as they relate to your relationship with Apple as the App Store distributor.
